One of my players wants a magical yakuza tattoo that gets filled in over time. Need advice on balancing.
A barbarian unarmed brawler type wants a magical tattoo that gets filled in over time like they do for irl yakuza. I suggested incremental power gains at 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th levels. I told him the magical ink would be something to work or quest for. He asked for fire based effects that arise while in rage. I suggested: 5th level: +2 fire damage to damage rolls. 10th level: enemies that end their turn within 10 feet of the player take 2 fire damage. 15th level: increase the damage and passive burn to +4 fire damage. 20th: I haven't decided. Maybe increase to +6? Do you guys think the damage/benefits are balanced considering fire is usually resisted? Edit: formatting
I Got really bored so.. I Created Majima in Honey Select 2 ( SFW Safe ) Sadly no tattoos.. because I couldn't find any Yakuza Tattoo in HS2 mods. So if you guys found any.. send me the link.
I'm talking about spot on (or as close as possible). I would really like Majima's tattoo. Would I go to Horitomo himself? Or ask Horitomo's permission to have it tattooed onto myself and then give the design to another tattoo artist, like Takashi in Behind the Circle (since that's closest to me) and do the whole tebori thing? Sorry, tattoos are new to me. I don't really know the whole procedure and I wouldn't want to offend a tattoo artist.
Given the amount of stuff we know about the Amon clan (Which is frankly not a lot) what kind of Tattoo's could they possibly have if they were Yakuza ? Or are the just SO different no Tattoo could represent the individual members in any capacity ?
Do you like Japanese culture is Enneagram 4? The geisha stuff, the yakuza, tattoos, art, music, poetry, how they seem very particular about aesthetics in what they wear or how their homes look? There's something very tragic and poetic about the Japanese, imo.
Been thinking about this. Also not to mention the romanticism of the Samurai and the romanticism of ''honor'' in japan.
Cyberpunk question, how to make Yakuza tattoos sci fi
Long story short, the next couple campaigns will heavily feature gangs such as the Yakuza, the Cartel/MS13, the Italian Mafia and Russian mob, as well as good ol fashion Crips. Most will have a traditional look, but I wanted to give each a good sci fi spin. The Cartel/MS13 will probably be called the Aztecs or Toreros and have appropriate symbolism of whichever and be vehicle focused, thinking a go-gang. Crip equivalent are going to be tech focused, everyone has heavy cyber modifications and drones. Mafia and Mob will look pretty traditional, except most enforcers will also be heavily modified but with much higher quality tech, and the bosses are almost entirely cyberized so they can live almost indefinitely. But the Yakuza, I don't know the perfect way to turn them sci fi. Hi tech bikes, blades and SMGs for sure, but I was thinking something to show off the tattoos. If this was Shadowrun I'd base all their magic off the stylized image of their tattoos, but no magic in this one. I could do VR bombs, cloud the enemy with a VR virus that fills their head with that traditional art, turning friend and foe indistinguishable. Maybe renraku styled sci fi armor, or oni masks and subdermal armor so many go without shirts.... That's doable. I dunno, any ideas would be awesome, for Yakuza or either
